Usage of Coated PCC can be found in paper finish where it improves gloss or aid bonding within the paper. Preferred to use PCC as compared to GCC as it is more pure and ability to obtain whiter and finer papers due to low impurities.

Adamas Mineral’s PCCs are excellent choice to use as functional fillers in paper pulp. It improves the whiteness, opacity, porosity, and bulk and ink receptivity in paper.

When used as a functional filler, Coated PCC improves the opacity of paper by increasing the light scattering coefficient of the filled paper by controlling the specific crystal shape and particular and well defined dimensions of the single crystal values below 0.3 microns.

Porosity and bulk of the paper heightens due to the well-defined shape and dimension of the micro-aggregates of PCC.
